CULTURE AND ATTRACTIONS

Copenhagen is a unique European capital. It is the capital of the happiest people in Europe according to a 2007 survey.

"Asked to rate both their happiness and long-term life satisfaction, Danish people trounce their European cousins ... Many in Denmark put this regularly-surveyed contentedness down to a dynamic economy and a pleasant work-life balance, with people leaving the office on time, jumping on effective public transport and heading off to pick up their delightful children from a shiny, well-run kindergarten." BBC News, 17th of April 2007

Cultural experiences and attractions are abundant in Copenhagen. The city is especially rich in art, architecture & design, royal sights and historic buildings. Copenhagen has the world's longest pedestrian street, Strøget, for shoppers of all tastes. The famous Tivoli amusement park in the centre of the city, the Little Mermaid, the canals and Amalienborg Palace are also classics on the Copenhagen Tourist tour.

Copenhagen offers much more than the classic tourist sights. Tours of the ‘free town' of Christiania, the Carlsberg brewery and bicycling around the city in special bicycle lanes are just some of the many alternative experiences Copenhagen has to offer.

The city also hosts a long list of special events including the Night Festival, Copenhagen Jazz Festival, Copenhagen Distortion, the Beer Festival, several film festivals etc.
