DENMARK IS THE BEST PLACE IN THE WORLD TO DO BUSINESS
Apr. 30, 2008 | Topic: Business conditionsDenmark ranks as the best place in the world to conduct business, according to a major international analysis.
This is the conclusion of the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) in its latest analysis of the global business climate. The analysis is based on feedback from approximately 650 analysts and is considered the most in-depth analysis of its kind.
The EIU ranks the most efficient countries for companies to conduct business in the next five years. And Denmark has improved its leading position, which we attained in 2005 for the first time, taking first place in seven out of ten categories.
The categories include infrastructure, macro-economic stability and political initiatives that benefit private entrepreneurs.
The analysis emphasises political stability in Denmark as well as the country's special labour market flexicurity model. Denmark's labour market policy is a great success and has been copied by a number of other European countries.
The EIU analysis covers 82 countries which together account for approximately 98 per cent of global production. Finland ranks second, followed by Singapore, Canada and Switzerland.
